I was born in Dublin, Eire. I was influenced by The Dubliners and many of the folk scene in late 1960’s Dublin.  I moved to Coventry in 1966 and got involved with the folk scene here forming a group called ‘King Of The Fairies’ with Teresa Galvin, Mary Mulligan and Brendan McGranaghan. Our very first gig was a residency at the newly opened Christ The King Parish Centre on a Monday night.  I do believe we were the first live entertainment at the centre when it first opened.  I played on stage with The Furey’s and Davy Arthur. I started to take the Bodhran seriously and started to mix Folk and Traditional music.  I joined Coventry Comhaltas and ended up being voted on to the committee as PRO for the branch in St. Brendan’s and The Four Provinces. While I am not currently an officer, I am still an active member of the Branch committee.

I have been playing and teaching the Bodhran for over 40 years and enjoy teaching all age groups.  I am also a member of The Innisfail Ceili Band.  As well as playing the Bodhran I enjoy singing.
